In July 2021 techno event Hunkering in Concert took place in the Gashouder, Amsterdam. The audience experienced a night that celebrated the ecstasy of life through the sonic union of classical music and electronic dance music.

The mission: create, execute and market a unique and exciting techno live show in Amsterdam. From the rehearsals with the classical orchestra, to the technical production, video creation, light design and event marketing. A harmony of different disciplines coming together for one goal only: a night of regained ecstasy.

A complete classical orchestra celebrated a beautiful synergy with Melodic Techno and House DJs. The idea of combining Melodic Techno and House with classical music comes from our love of attracting opposites. Using creativity and skills to make unconventional alliances work. A night of pure connections. The result? An animating night full of emotion, unapologetic dance moves and musical climaxes.

Providing enlightenment in challenging times

DJs/Producers HOSH, Klangkarussell, Fur Coat and Alex Niggemann performed existing songs as well as new material with the orchestra. A mix of indie dance, deep house and melodic house in combination with live elements was performed against the backdrop of the imposing Gashouder, one of the most iconic festival locations in the Netherlands.

I started crying when the light shone onto the crowd. We've all been waiting so long for a moment like this. You visualised what we were all feeling. Thank you!

The challenges of hosting a public live show in the midst of a pandemic, meant that it was a necessity to be flexible and create multiple plans. From a large festival-setting, to an intimate seated setting with plenty of spacing and precautions. A safe, but free experience.
