One of the primary challenges of this event was the need to convert the expansive ‘Open Square’ into a cozy dining area with the use of atmospheric decor. The fact that no work could be done on the square during the museum’s operating hours on all three days made for a separate challenge. Nonetheless, the scale of the production and the distinctiveness of the program necessitated several days of rehearsal. The solution involved creating a fully mobile and demountable atmospheric decor, which was assembled every evening over three days and completely dismantled after nightly rehearsals. Another obstacle emerged due to the absence of mounting points for essential light and sound equipment in the canopy of the Open Square. Consequently, we decided to integrate some of the required technology into the decor itself and place others within the floor-to-ceiling windows of the square. Similar to the decor, this equipment had to be set up every evening and taken down each night.
