On the last day of 2023, approximately 300 attendees experienced a unique wedding in central Amsterdam. The formal ceremony was held in the afternoon within the cozy confines of the H’Art Museum. Afterward, guests embarked on a canal boat ride towards the National Maritime Museum. Here, they enjoyed a bespoke dinner in the museum’s exquisitely decorated ‘Open Square’, every inch of it tailor made specifically for this event. The celebration concluded with an afterparty, where everyone welcomed the New Year together during a impressive live show.

Making the impossible possible

One of the primary challenges of this event was the need to convert the expansive ‘Open Square’ into a cozy dining area with the use of atmospheric decor. The fact that no work could be done on the square during the museum’s operating hours on all three days made for a separate challenge. Nonetheless, the scale of the production and the distinctiveness of the program necessitated several days of rehearsal. The solution involved creating a fully mobile and demountable atmospheric decor, which was assembled every evening over three days and completely dismantled after nightly rehearsals. Another obstacle emerged due to the absence of mounting points for essential light and sound equipment in the canopy of the Open Square. Consequently, we decided to integrate some of the required technology into the decor itself and place others within the floor-to-ceiling windows of the square. Similar to the decor, this equipment had to be set up every evening and taken down each night.

Music Production

Pop meets Classic

“Here is a list of our favorite music. We would like to hear that at our wedding, but make it special and slightly different.”

With this request from our client in mind, we devised a unique musical plan. We set up a central ‘in the round’ main stage in the dining area, surrounded by six smaller circular stages. These stages were carefully positioned among the long dinner tables to ensure that every guest could have an immersive experience from their seat. Throughout the dinner, a total of 22 classical musicians performed on these stages in various groupings. They played the couple’s favorite pop music, creatively arranged into elegant and unexpected symphonic compositions.

"From the initial interaction, your creativity, professionalism, and commitment to crafting a memorable event astounded us. The essence of the day was impeccably captured. The music selection, artistic performance, and guest engagement were genuinely remarkable. Everything surpassed our expectations. Each detail was flawless, and the cohesive atmosphere enchanted and transformed the entire setting."
